On Jan. 12, Comcast is poised to axe The Word Network in key markets, severely limiting the Christian network’s access to its faith-based audience.

In an effort to stop what the religious media company is calling an “unjust removal” of programming on 456 Comcast systems EEW Magazineis weighing in.

In an open letter obtained by EEW Magazine, the 62-year-old addresses Jennifer Gaiski, SVP of Content Acquisition, to deter executives from depriving “roughly 7 million subscribers, many of whom rely on programming carried by The Word Network for their daily religious and spiritual edification.”

According to the civil rights activist, Ms. Gaiski’s letter notifying The Word Network of the change “gave no explanation for this surprising move and has caused deep concern within the African American community.”

The Word Network, which airs programming from Bishop T.D. Jakes, Joyce Meyer, Bishop Paul S. Morton and more, is self-described as “the largest African American religious network in the world reaching 3 billion people worldwide.”
