Pastor Mike Jr. returns to Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell to talk about all his new projects and what Christmas is like with his large family.

GUMEC:
So tell us about this song of ‘This Christmas Just Jesus’,
PASTOR MIKE JR:
So I was, in a pandemic for 2 1/2 years, so about a year ago they started saying hey, we need to get you on some Christmas shows but you ain’t got no Christmas music. I went downstairs and started painting this song and it came together and it really blessed me.
I believe it’s just a good testimony to anybody who’s had a Christmas where you said I want a house I want a car. You got the stuff and it didn’t feel you. But this year I’m saying, hey, this Christmas, just give me Jesus and the rest I handle itself.

So what does Christmas look like in the McClure household?
PASTOR MIKE JR:
Oh my God it’s crazy. I got five kids you got to think about it used to be beautiful, but now the big boy 17,16,15, so it aint as exciting as it used to be. But them little ones, I can still go to five and below $200.00 and still look like a king.
GUMEC:
We see you making big moves like the Rethink Label Capital City Music has just signed a distribution deal with Capital DMG. So tell us about this big deal.
PASTOR MIKE JR:
Yeah, my entire career I’ve been independent just walking, working, working, working partnerships. But what we did recently was started my own label, Rock City Media Group, and we did a distribution deal with Rethink Capital Records. And so now we’re able to have direct pipeline to help artists who help me. I’m real big on loyalty. You know, so when you see someone like Nadia who sung on me for three years. I want to be a blessing. So now her new singles takingoff. We’re able to put money behind that with a record. label and all different things, and with that church and other organizations,
I’m just excited. Man, one of the things I love so much is that with my career I didn’t get here by myself and I think that’s one of the problems I see, not just in music but in life. People get to a certain destination and everybody wants to scream look at what I did, but don’t ever turn around and help the people who help them get to the next level. So for me, man, it was a blessing and I’m just excited to see what God does next, and I’m gonna say this hopefully in five years I’m the my block south.
